Membrane filter presses are widely used in chemical, environmental protection and other industries due to their efficient solid-liquid separation capabilities. As the core power unit, hydraulic systems will seriously affect production efficiency and equipment life once they fail. Mastering common fault types, causes and solutions is the key to ensuring stable operation of equipment.


Insufficient pressure is one of the most common faults. The filter press cannot reach the predetermined pressure, resulting in the filter plate not being able to fit tightly, which in turn causes filtrate leakage. The root cause is often hydraulic oil leakage, which may be caused by loose pipe joints, aging of sealing rings or wear of hydraulic cylinder bodies. In addition, wear of hydraulic pumps and improper setting of relief valves can also cause the failure to establish pressure. When solving the problem, it is necessary to carefully check each sealing part, tighten the joints, and replace damaged sealing rings; if the hydraulic pump fails, it should be repaired or replaced in time; at the same time, the pressure setting value of the relief valve should be adjusted reasonably.


Abnormal vibration and noise of the system are also frequent problems. During operation, the hydraulic system emits a harsh noise accompanied by violent vibrations, which not only affects the working environment, but also indicates potential serious failures. This may be because air is mixed into the hydraulic oil, forming cavitation; or the suction line of the hydraulic pump is blocked, resulting in poor oil suction. In addition, loose mechanical parts, such as poor coupling alignment and bearing damage, can also cause vibration. To deal with such problems, check the oil level in the oil tank, ensure that the suction line is well sealed; clean or replace the blocked suction filter; tighten, calibrate or replace the loose parts.


Excessive oil temperature should not be ignored. Long-term continuous operation, failure of the cooling system, or high viscosity of the hydraulic oil will cause the oil temperature to rise sharply. Excessive oil temperature will reduce the lubrication performance of the hydraulic oil, accelerate the aging of the seals, and even deform the hydraulic components. At this time, check whether the cooler is blocked and clean the heat sink; select hydraulic oil of appropriate viscosity according to the equipment requirements and replace it regularly; arrange the working time of the equipment reasonably to avoid overload operation.
